Thailand is a home to thousands of Kilometers of beautiful coastline -
with dozens and dozens of incredible places to enjoy snorkeling. Located
in the heart of South-East Asia - the tropical waters are home to an
incredibly diverse range of marine life and corals. With massive species
like Whale Sharks and Manta Rays to tiny little friends like Clownfish
(you may know them as Nemo from the movie "Finding Nemo"). Many of the
places you will visit have small or no tidal surges - the snorkeling is
suitable for all ages.

Snorkeling
in Thailand is also very easy to do as many sites are simply right off
the beach. For the very best places we suggest visiting the islands
further offshore. The most famous places of snorkeling in Thailand are
the Similan and Surin Islands. As part of large National parks, these
islands have no inhabitants and only allow a limited number of guests
for overnight camping. In addition you will find Koh Lipe another great
island to visit. In the Gulf of Thailand can be found Koh Chang, Koh
Phangan and the most famous - Koh Tao.
The best time to visit the
West Coast is from November until April of each year because the water
in this period is very clear and the winds are calm. The Gulf of
Thailand has monsoons during November and December of each year.
While
the snorkeling is incredible - don't overlook exploring the forests and
jungles of Thailand as well as exploring the many, many beaches.
Many of the most preserved parts of Thailand's Snorkeling
sits are part of National Parks and these may charge an admission
price. Please check ahead! If you arrange a tour with a private agency -
equipment and guides are often included in the prices.
